Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine Street, Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin.

At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and then traditional service at 11 a.m.

You can worship in person or in the parking lot by tuning the radio station to 104.3 FM or Facebook Live.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is prayer and praise.

ABC Food Pantry is available for those in need. Contact the church office if you are in a need of help or if you want to donate food or monetary gifts.

Micah’s Backpack Program is in its 11th year serving needy students in the Palmerton School District. Check the church website for the food list if you would like to donate.

JUCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, holds Sunday Worship Service in the church grove at 10 a.m. Pastor Marion leads the worship.

You can also remain in your vehicle in the parking lot and listen to the service on radio station 95.5 or watch live on Facebook. The service is also posted on the website after the service.

Holy Trinity Lutheran

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will hold worship on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. If you plan to attend, call the church office at 610-826-2525.

It you are unable to attend in person, you may join on Zoom. Please remember to bring food items for the food pantry.

Choir rehearsals are held at 11:30 a.m. following the service. Bells will rehearse Sundays at 9 a.m. beginning Sunday.

Bible Study is in Fellowship Hall on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Fall Basket Social

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trachsville will have a Basket Social on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be theme baskets, raffle, and a bake sale. $25 will be hidden in three baskets.

Food items will be available for purchase including BBQ, homemade soups, filling, etc.

Apple & Fall Festival

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville will hold its Apple & Fall Festival Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Picnic Grove. Music by Dean Hahn and the Hawks will be from 12 to 3 p.m.

There will also be a tricky tray and meat raffle with drawings at 3 p.m.

Homemade food, including apple dumplings, cobbler, funny cake, apple or regular sausage sandwiches, soup, barbecue, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, and ice cream; as well as a wagon with apples, apple cider, pumpkins, and fall items will also be available for purchase.

Fall Bazaar

Emmanuel UCC, 509 Hamilton St. Bowmanstown will have its Fall Bazaar on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The kitchen will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a baked goods sale and homemade soup sale.

Participants sought for parade

The Palmerton Veterans Day Parade Committee is issuing a call for floats, vendors, and participants for the 50th annual Carbon County Veterans Day Parade to be held in Palmerton Nov. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a rain date of Nov. 13.

Quilt/Craft Lovers Bingo

Hosted by the Sew What Quilt Guild, a Quilt/Craft Lovers Bingo is Oct. 9 at the Palmerton Library. Door opens at 12 p.m. Games begin at 1 p.m. Seating is limited and masks are optional.

Worship Night in the Park

BWC Palmerton will be hosting an all campus worship in the Palmerton Borough Park on Friday at 6:30 p.m. There will be free apple cider, live music, and meaningful worship.

BARC’s 9th Annual Dog Show

The Bowmanstown Area Residents Connected will hold its Annual Dog Show on Saturday. The day will begin with a Dog Walk on the D&L Trail, leaving at 9 a.m. from Marvin Gardens Train Head in East Penn Township.

Registration for the show begins at 11 a.m. and judging/show starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Bowmanstown Fire Company Grove on Lime Street.

Knitting Club

The Knitting Club will meet on Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Palmerton Area Library. The club is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels.

Blue Mountain Fiber Guild

The Blue Mountain Fiber Guild explores all things related to fiber arts (spinning, weaving, etc.) The group will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat in the Palmerton borough on Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Halloween Parade

The Palmerton Halloween Parade is Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. Rain date is Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.

Palmerton Youth Basketball

Palmerton Youth Basketball Association in-person registration will be held Oct. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the high school gym lobby.

PYBA offers teams for boys and girls in grades K-6.

Historical Society

The Palmerton Historical Society welcomes you to join with them on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Little White Church Third Street, Palmerton. The Program is Pennsylvania German Gravestones.

The PHS welcomes Mike Emery, site administrator of Cornwall Iron Furnace. The event is free and open to the public.

Block Shoot

Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton will hold a Block Shoot on Saturday. Doors open at 11 a.m. Shoot starts at noon.

Will be 12-gauge shoot and will have meat raffles. Food and drinks are included with ticket purchase. This is open to the public and smoke free.

Basket Spectacular

The Concourse Club of Palmerton will hold its Fall Basket Spectacular to Benefit the Palmerton Community on Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. John’s Towamensing Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road Palmerton. There will be a wide variety of beautiful baskets to win. Lunch will be available, including a variety of homemade soups, BBQ, filling, and more; as well as a bake sale.

Tickets can be prepurchased at the Palmerton Library or on the day of the event.
