Faith Alive Church
Faith Alive Church 678 Pine Street, Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and then traditional service at 11 a.m. You can worship in person or in the parking lot by tuning the radio station to 104.3 FM or Facebook Live.
Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is prayer and praise.
Upcoming event:
Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. is impact Youth Group for youth ages 12 years to 12th grade. All youth are welcome.
September Mission of the month is to Samaritan’s Purse. It’s a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. They help victims of war, poverty, natural disasters and famine.
ABC Food Pantry is our own pantry that is available for those in need. Please contact the church office if you are in a need for help or if you want to donate food or monetary gifts to help replenish our supplies.
Micah’s Backpack Program is into its 11th year serving the needs of needy students in the Palmerton School District. Check the church website for the food list if you would like to donate to the mission.

JUCC
Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, holds Sunday Worship Service in the picnic grove at 10 a.m. You can also remain in your vehicle in the parking lot and listen to the service on radio station 95.5 or watch live on Facebook. The service is also posted on the website after the service has concluded.
Rally Day will be celebrated this Sunday. Join together for worship and breakfast sandwiches to bless next Sunday school year. At the service we will acknowledge “fly-ups” from our children’s classes and commission our dedicated group of Sunday school teachers to bless their efforts during the next year.
Also, during the service Pastor Marion will bless children in nursery, Sunday school and families. Children are welcome to bring their backpacks.
Holy Trinity Lutheran
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will hold worship on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. If you plan to attend, call the church office at 610-826-2525. If you are unable to attend in person, you may join on Zoom. Communion will be served. Please remember to bring food items for the food pantry.
Choir rehearsals are held at 11:30 a.m. following the service. Bells will rehearse Sundays at 9 a.m. beginning Oct. 2.
Fall Basket Social
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trachsville will also be holding a Basket Social on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will have Theme Baskets, raffle, and bake sale. $25 will be hidden in three baskets.
Food items will be available for purchase including BBQ, homemade soups, filling, etc.
Apple & Fall Festival
Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville will hold their Apple & Fall Festival Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Picnic Grove. Music by Dean Hahn and the Hawks will be from 12 to 3 p.m. There will be a Tricky Tray and Meat Raffle with drawings at 3 p.m.
The church will have homemade food including apple dumplings, cobbler, funny cake, apple or regular sausage sandwiches, soup, barbecue, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, and ice cream; as well as a wagon with apples, apple cider, pumpkins, and fall items.
Participants sought for parade
The Palmerton Veterans Day Parade Committee is issuing a call for floats, vendors, and participants for the 50th annual Carbon County Veterans Day Parade to be held in Palmerton Nov. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a rain date of Nov. 13.

Heroes Day
The third annual Heroes Day will be held Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. in the Grove Pavilion at Palmerton Pool. Kids for the Community invite kids to hang out with the local heroes of the community. Kids get to talk to the responders and check out their vehicles and equipment.
Everyone eats free. This year they will also have face painting and tattoos for the kiddies and will be putting little goody bags together for the heroes who attend. Everyone is welcome.
Carwash and Basket Raffle
On Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. a car wash and basket raffle will be held to support Palmerton Varsity Cheerleaders and Jr. High Cheerleaders at George’s Bus Company Delaware Ave., Palmerton. They will also have Caribbean Noodles and Krazy Chicken Lady there. Also 31 bags and Love4art will be there selling their products.
Breakfast
An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, toast, cereal, hash, ham, bacon, sausage, OJ, coffee, tea, and milk.
