Community Day in Ross Township is Saturday

• Ross Township’s Community Day is this Saturday at the township park from noon to 4 p.m.

There will be games, food trucks, craft vendors and local organizations on hand. The event is free.

“It will be a day of inexpensive fun and meeting local organizations,” said Deb Brown, administrative assistant and lead planner for the event.

• The UCC Joint Board of Appeals still needs members. Anyone interested can contact the office at 570-992-4990.

• Fall cleanup days will be Sept. 23 and 24. Dumpsters will be on site at the municipal building. Residents can bring metal, tires, automobile batteries, mattresses, appliances, carpet, furniture and bikes. Fees for tires, refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are posted on www.rosstwp.com.

• The township’s historical society will host an open house at its updated museum on Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is at noon. There will be a memorial bench dedication for Sharon Steen at 3:30 p.m. and Chairman James Zahoroiko will host trivia from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

• Trick-or-treat is Monday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m.
