Slatington is once again without a borough manager.

Steve Salvesen, who was appointed to the post on Nov. 24 at a salary of $60,000, has stepped down.

The Hanover Township resident said he informed the borough council recently of his intentions.

The position has been a revolving door as of late, as Salvesen was the borough’s third manager within the past 2½ years.

He replaced Herb Pfeiffer, who was hired Sept. 15, 2008, and fired in May 2009. Pfeiffer succeeded John Kasten, who resigned the post in March 2008.
