September 2, 1989 - Joe Gillespie runs for 101 yards and two touchdowns to help Marian roll to a 40-6 victory over Blue Mountain. Gillespie’s 12-yard run during the Colts’ opening drive sets up a 5-yard scoring run by Mark Hrebik. Gillespie reaches the end zone late in the first quarter on a 13-yard scamper and after a Ralph Hunsinger interception early in the second frame, Gillespie powers over the goal line from a yard out. Hrebik adds a second TD on an 8-yard run, while Joe Marsilio also hooks up with Hirochek on a 10-yard scoring toss. The winners, who finish with 299 rushing yards, also receive a 67-yard TD run from Mike Makovec.
