Thirty Carbon County Trailtenders volunteers converged at the Weissport Trailhead parking lot for the third time this year, as they continued their efforts to improve the parking lot, trailhead and trail part of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor Trail.

The trail runs along the Lehigh Canal from where it is severed by Route 248 and the Pohopoco Creek at Parryville to the wastewater treatment plant in Jim Thorpe.

The volunteers are led by Elissa Thorne of the D&L and Camille Lore of the Wildlands Conservancy, assisted by members of Concern for Lehighton.
