Senior Master Sgt. Michael P. Olsovsky, a native of Lansford, recently presented U.S. Rep. Paul E. Kanjorski, District 11, an American flag flown during a combat mission over Afghanistan.

Olsovsky served two tours in the Middle East following last September’s terrorist attacks. He brought the flag home from his final mission there with the 361st Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron.

A son of Leonard Olsovsky of Lansford and the late Virginia Olsovsky, he is a 1976 graduate of Panther Valley High School. He and his wife, Jan, have two children, Nicholas and Erin.
