A motorcyclist was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a crash in West Penn Township.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m. as the biker was traveling west on Route 443 just east of Route 309 during a heavy rain.
The man apparently lost control laying the bike down along the right berm. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a trauma center.
The West Penn fire company responded with their fire police maintaining traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway. West Penn township police are investigating the incident.
