Items the Carbon County Commissioners discussed or acted upon during their weekly meeting on Thursday.

• Heard from Sara Ruch, Carbon County’s representative for the America250PA campaign, who provided an update on what is being planned for the upcoming celebration.

• Approved the reappointment of Phyllis Rochette of Jim Thorpe to the Carbon County Redevelopment Authority. She will serve until May 5, 2027.

• Approved a quote from Radio Maintenance Inc. of Reading to purchase and install a police F1 simulcast radio system at the Lehigh Tunnel and Broad Mountain tower sites. The total cost is $63,458.58 and is covered under Act 12 funding.

• Approved a quote from Motorola Solutions to purchase two GTR 8000 VHF base radio repeaters at a total cost of $29,270.08.

• Approved a quote from TuWay Communications of Bethlehem to upgrade the NECORE Next Generation Core Services equipment on the VESTA 911 phone system at a cost of $22,540. This is approved under the statewide interconnectivity grant.

• Ratified an agreement with Trane of Wilkes-Barre to replace heat exchangers and induce motors on rooftop units 5 and 7 at the correctional facility for$12,098.

• Approved an agreement with Tyler Technologies of Troy, Michigan, for Enterprise Law Enforcement Mobile Server Software at a recurring fee of $18,460; plus a one-time set up fee of $80,870.

• Approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the Carbon Career & Technical Institute and the county to provide ABE and Career Pathways educational services to criminal offenders to attain a high school equivalency diploma at the Carbon County Correctional Facility. Services are provided at no cost to the county; funding to be secured by CCTI through Lehigh County Community College from the PA Department of Education Act 231 Federal Literacy Grant (16-20 offenders) for the period Sept. 1 through June 30, 2023.

• Approved authorizing the advertisement for the invitation to bid for the 525 Iron St., Lehighton building project.
