August 27, 1970 - Coaldale’s Tom Frendak, Lansford’s Neil Kennedy and Tamaqua’s Jim Abromitis combine to pitch a three-hitter in leading the West squad to a 12-3 victory over the East in the first-ever Panther Valley Little League Tournament all-star game. Frendak, Kennedy and Abromitis all pitch two innings, allowing one hit and one run. Frendak leads the West team offensively with three hits, one a three-run homer. Tamaqua’s Mike Miorelli also slugs a three-run homer, while Kennedy collects a pair of hits, one a double.
