The name Greenzweig is synonymous with the West End Fair.
Dale Greenzweig Sr. took over the family’s concession stand at the West End Fair 54 years ago from his parents.
“I still remember coming to the fair and helping out every day when I was a kid,” Greenzweig said.
Now his two sons, Troy and Dale Jr., and his daughter, Angie, run the concession stand, but she said, “My dad is still really the boss.”
The elder Greenzweig serves on the West End Fair Board of Directors and his son Dale Jr., known by most as Peanut, is the fair’s president.
Regular fairgoers stop by the Greenzweigs’ concession stand every year to catch up on how things are going and to enjoy the pierogies, cheese fries or plain fries with lots of salt and vinegar.
