Valor Clinic in Brodheadsville is collecting nonperishable food items for its holiday meals program. Gift cards are also accepted.
“We distribute holiday meal boxes three times a year,” said Susan Schwarz, Holiday Meal Coordinator for Valor. “We distribute meals for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter to approximately 400 veteran families in need. The holidays can be a very stressful time for veterans, and our program helps ease some financial stress at those times.”
Valor has a booth at the West End Fair this week to collect donations. It also has a barrel at ShopRite in Brodheadsville where donations can be placed through December. Valor will have volunteers at ShopRite on Sept. 16, Oct. 8, and Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Colossal Radio is hosting an event at the Hofford Mill in Weissport on Sept. 4 to support the holiday meal program. Get more information at ColossalRadio.rocks/jeepfest.
