More than 256 kids, ages 5 to 16 and from different states, competed in the National Quarter Midget races at the West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert last weekend.
Peyton Knecht, from Kunkletown, was the 2022 Features Winner on Sunday, the last day of three-day event.
She has been competing for seven years and when asked what she liked best she said, “I don’t know, maybe the speed.”
It is really difficult to tell one race team from another because when a car spins out on the track all the team members rush to get the driver to safety and turned around on the track.
Moms cheer for not only they child, they all care about the young drivers.
“We are all like one big family. We watch out for each other,” said Kathy Moyer, whose son Jack races.
