State police at Schuylkill Haven

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following incidents:

• On July 29 at 11:08 p.m. troopers were dispatched to Lake Street in North Manheim Township, for a domestic. An investigation revealed that during the course of an argument with her family, Emily Holland, 20, of Pottsville, punched a nonfamily member, a 44-year-old man from Cressona, and fled the scene.

She was issued a citation for harassment - physical contact.

• Troopers reported on another incident involving two victims from Pottsville, a 46-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man. The woman told police that her truck’s GPS indicated the vehicle was in motion and it should not be as no one was authorized to operate it.

She said the truck was traveling eastbound on Interstate 78 into New Jersey and eventually came to a stop in a shopping plaza in Jersey City. Troopers contacted Jersey City police who located the truck, which was unoccupied. The victim then went to Jersey City and was given possession of the vehicle. The value of the truck was set at $35,000.

There are no suspects at this time, troopers said.

• Police said on July 22 at 12:30 a.m. troopers responded to a reported one-vehicle crash along Route 61 in North Manheim Township. The driver, John McGlynn, 29, of Schuylkill Haven, was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.

• A 58-year-old Cressona man reported a $5,380 check he was issued for trading cards bounced.

Police said the victim sold 10 boxes of sports trading cards, totaling about 1,440 cards, on Nov. 5, 2021, and the check used to pay for them was returned by Truist Financial Bank due to insufficient funds.

Police said as of July 28 the suspect has not made good on the transaction.

• A 57-year-old Pine Grove man is the victim of a theft of the catalytic converter from his 2002 Toyota Tundra.

He told state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks he parked the vehicle at the park-and-ride lot near the northbound ramp of Interstate 81 in Tremont Township at 4:30 a.m. July 28.

The man said he drove the vehicle home around 2 p.m. the same day and heard an odd sound coming from it, later discovering that the converter was removed from the vehicle.
