Geist graduates from Liberty University

Sydney Geist, Palmerton Area 2018 alum, graduated from Liberty University in May with a degree in business administration: communications & marketing sales management and professional selling. She graduated cum laude with a GPA of 3.66 while also being a part of the Honors Program.

When Geist’s Liberty journey began in August 2019, she became involved in many different extracurriculars while also having on campus employment opportunities. Geist had been involved with Thomas Road Baptist Church and the Public Relations Student Society of America, being the Director of Chapter Development and helping out with events.

In January 2021, Geist was offered a position as tour guide, also known as an On-Campus Student Recruiter for Liberty’s campus. She was able to give tours to prospective students and create the same feeling for students the way that she had felt when she first stepped on Liberty’s campus years ago. Six months later, Geist started a summer internship with Liberty University’s Career Services Center where she learned more about social media and communications. When her internship ended at the end of the summer, she was offered a paid position as a Content and Marketing Promotional Specialist for the entirety of her senior year. Geist also had the opportunity to participate in Bible studies, create social media posts for an election campaign during her final semester, and also started creating videos online for her personal brand.

Geist also received many different achievements during the duration of her time at Liberty. Her very first week, she had won a book scholarship through the Liberty University Bookstore by posting a video on her social media account.

In December of 2020, Geist had the opportunity to perform at Liberty University’s annual Christmas Coffeehouse by singing “Let It Snow.” At the end of her time at Liberty, Geist had received a medallion for completing four honors seminars, three honors petition, and a 25-page honors thesis through the Honors Program. Throughout all these accomplishments, what Geist is most proud of is that she has grown in her faith during her time at Liberty.

Upon graduating from Liberty University, Geist has been able to have a part-time internship with the Carbon County Community Foundation, where she is implementing her social media and marketing skills while writing blog posts and designing posts for CCCF’s social media channels. She also has a part-time position at Bethany Wesleyan Church as the online marketing coordinator.
