Former Marian hurler and Times News Baseball Player of the Year Joe Nahas is currently a pitcher for Division 1 Georgia Southern.
Nahas is in his junior season and has pitched in eight games for the Eagles.
In his last four outings, the right-handed reliever has tossed eight and a third innings, allowing eight hits and three runs. In those games, he has given up two walks while striking out six.
Nahas starred at Chesapeake College last year, posting a 10-1 record in 14 starts. He recorded an ERA of 3.18, and picked up 142 strikeouts in 73 2/3 innings pitched. He helped lead the Skipjacks to the 2018 Maryland Junior College State Championship.
Georgia Southern currently owns a 20-16 record, including an 8-7 mark in the Sun Belt Conference.
