Three people were injured in a crash in Carbon County on Monday.
State police at Lehighton said the crash occurred at 4:58 a.m. along Route 54 (Stock Street), in Nesquehoning.
Troopers said Patrick J. Boyle, 19, of Coaldale, was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla eastbound when he lost control due to wet road conditions. The Toyota then entered the lane of travel of a 2014 Buick Verano driven by Caryl A. Cara, 44, of Kelayres, and the vehicles collided head-on.
Boyle and his passenger, Chloe Engler, 18, of Summit Hill, suffered suspected serious injuries and were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, by Lehighton ambulance. Cara was injured and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Carbon in Franklin Township.
Troopers said Boyle was cited for registration violations.
