Dawn Blanton of Highland Acres Hosta & Daylilies Farm, Schuylkill Haven, will be conducting a workshop on creating concrete leaf castings. The workshop will be held at the Schuylkill County Fairgrounds in the Flower Building which is next to the FARM Food Stand.

The workshop is sponsored by the South Schuylkill Garden Club and will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Dawn, the instructor, will demonstrate how to cast the leaf, and participants will be provided a kit with all the supplies needed to make a casting about the size of your hand as well as another smaller leaf casting.

Participants may want to bring a mask as initially there may be some dust given off from the medium used. After making the leaf cast, participants should take the leaf casting home and let it completely dry (or cure) for 24 hours. These leaf castings can be used both indoors, as well as outdoors, and can be painted.
