Mazepa’s hit in the second inning scores George Kurtz, who had singled. The winners add a second run in the fourth on a fielder’s choice RBI from Charlie Kinek that plates Dennis Strohl. Jim Kurtz knocks in Palmerton’s final run in the fifth, as his single drives in Randy Smith, who reached on a double. Kinek tosses nine innings and scatters seven hits to gain the win. For Lehighton, Jimmy Kunkle collects three hits and an RBI.
