A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Saturday when a tree fell across a road in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred at 12:32 a.m. along Route 443 at Orchard Lane, in East Brunswick Township.

Troopers said a large, rotted tree, fell across the road blocking both lanes of travel. Troopers said the 66-year-old cyclist was eastbound when the bike struck the tree. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the county coroner’s office.

The name of the victim has not been released pending the notification of the next of kin.
