A large amount of cash, and costly damages were reported in a Carbon County burglary.
State police at Fern Ridge said the break-in occurred at the 903 Plaza, located off Route 903 in Penn Forest Township, sometime between 8 p.m. on June 13 and 8 a.m. on June 14.
Troopers said entry was gained to the unoccupied suite adjacent to the D&D Cigar & Cigarette store by forcing the back door open.
The criminals then cut through a wall and into two poker machines inside the D&D store.
Troopers said $4,000 in cash was removed from each machine. The criminals also damaged two back door locks and a chain link fence gate belonging to Nessa’s Small Steps day care facility but did not gain entry.
Troopers estimated total damages to the poke machines, door locks, a door and drywall to be $3,515.
