The Palmerton softball team is set to face District 3 runner-up Susquenita in the PIAA Class 3A quarterfinals on Thursday at Pine Grove Area High School.

The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will follow the Kutztown-Lewisburg 3A quarterfinal contest, which will begin at 5 p.m.

Susquenita (20-4) advanced with a 6-5 win over District 2 champion Mid Valley in the first round.

The Blue Bombers (16-9) are coming off a 13-2 victory over District 12 champion Philadelphia Academy Charter.
