A 74-year-old Lehighton man is the victim of a theft by deception incident that is being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

The incident happened on May 23.

Police said the man, who lives along Interchange Road in Towamensing Township, reported to them at 11:36 a.m. May 27 that he bought $1,000 worth of Target gift cards and gave the numbers on them to an unknown man over the telephone.
