Penn State’s Chris Fredericks recently placed seventh at the Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The Palmerton graduate launched a throw of 195-7 (59.62m) in the javelin in what was a solid day for the Nittany Lions.
The men’s javelin group earned Penn State’s first points of the day with four student-athletes scoring 19 points in the event, with Fredericks scoring two points for his seventh-place finish.
Fredericks placed third in the javelin with a throw of 67.55m at last year’s Big Ten Championships, and later finished 17th in the javelin with a throw of 66.92m at the NCAA East Prelims.
He also placed second in the javelin with a season-best throw of 68.74m at last year’s Husker Big Ten Invite.
At Palmerton, Fredericks won three District 11 javelin crowns and two Colonial League championships. He was a member the Blue Bombers team that won the 2018 Colonial League title.
