First Saturday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion begins at 5 p.m. Holy Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. The Rite of Confirmation for seven young people after two years of instructions is included in the Sunday worship. Masks are no longer required, however, if you are not fully vaccinated, please continue to wear a mask over the nose and mouth for your own protection and safety. Coffeehouse fellowship follows the Sunday morning worship at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Vicar Sarah Moore assists.

Sunday church school sessions and youth group meetings are on a summer break.

The Trinity Thrift Store is open without reservations. Shopping and drop-off hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours, limited to five bags or boxes. The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

First Tuesday worship Quiet Communion without musical accompaniment is June 7 at 11 a.m.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or seek membership at Trinity, please contact the church office to register for the 11:30 a.m. instruction sessions for June. Baptismal guidelines are held on the third Sunday, overview for prospective new members are held the fourth Sunday with Pastor Moore.

St. John’s

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Drive W. Lehighton.

Worship service: June 5, 10 a.m. with Holy Communion outside under the pavilion. If it rains, worship service will be held in the fellowship hall.
