Michael Knies, a Lansford resident, has been appointed Manager of Collections at the Canal Museum in Easton.

A son of Michael and Julia Knies of Lansford, he is a 1976 graduate of Panther Valley High School.

He will be responsible for registering new acquisitions at the museum, creating a computerized cataloging system to provide easy access to the manuscript, photographic and library collections and providing basic conversation for the collection.
