Jim Thorpe’s softball team ended its season on a winning note, cruising past Weatherly on Thursday.

Amanda Goodchild pitched a four-hit shutout to lead Jim Thorpe to an 8-0 non-league victory over Weatherly.
Goodchild walked just two batters and struck out 15 to help the Olympians snap a 10-game losing streak and finish the season with a 5-15 record.
Jada Mahmde had a hit and scored two runs for Thorpe, who took control of the game by scoring six times in the fourth inning. Melina Schwartz contributed a pair of runs and two RBIs, while Tara McLean also knocked in two runs and scored once. The winners also received a hit, a run and an RBI from Taylor Mordaunt.
For the Wreckers, Maddie vonFrisch allowed five hits and only three earned runs while striking out 10.
The loss dropped Weatherly to 6-14.
