State police reported on the following crashes:
• A one-vehicle crash at 11:24 p.m. on May 6 along Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township, involved a bear. State police at Lehighton said Sarah M. Selfridge, 40, of Pedricktown, New Jersey, was driving a 2006 Dodge Neon eastbound when she said a bear entered the road in front of her. Her vehicle struck the bear. No injuries were reported.
Selfridge was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
• A deer has been blamed for a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 11:23 p.m. on Wednesday along Spring Mountain Road in Banks Township, Carbon County.
State police at Hazleton said Samuel C. Felicione, 49, of Beaver Meadows, was driving a 2004 Nissan Altima westbound when he approached a deer on the road. Felicione attempted to swerve to miss the deer and lost control of the vehicle. The Altima spun and struck an embankment along the left berm. Felicione was not injured, but the vehicle had to be towed.
He was cited for the crash.
