Knitting classes
The Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill is offering classes for those who would like to learn how to knit.
Classes will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24; as well as Nov. 7 and 14 in the parish social hall, 462 W. Ludlow St.
Anyone age 12 and older who is interested in learning how to knit is welcome to attend the free classes.
Preregistration is not necessary but participants will need a size 10 knitting needle, measuring tape or gauge scissors and yarn needle.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group who is dedicated to bringing comfort to those in need through a blessed prayer shawl.
Pen to Paper card ministry
A new outreach program at St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill, is looking for volunteers who would like to touch the lives of those who are unable to participate in spiritual, catechetical, sacramental or social life of the parish.
The Pen to Paper Connection Card Ministry is an outreach program that sends handwritten greetings to any parishioner who could use a kind word or encouragement. Greetings are sent for any occasion or reason such as holidays, birthdays, baptisms, weddings and sympathy.
The ministry also pens greetings to those who may be far from home or in the military.
St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley parishioners are invited to forward names and addresses of anyone who may benefit from this ministry.
