Library story hour
Panther Valley Public Library will hold preschool story hour at 10 a.m. every Tuesday through Dec. 18. Children ages 3-5 are invited to join us for a story, craft and snack. This program is free of charge.
No registration is necessary, just drop by the library to enjoy this fun-filled hour. For more information, call the library 570-645-3780.
Medicare
The Panther Valley Public Library will be providing assistance to seniors during open enrollment for Medicare.
You may be able to save money on your Medicare and prescription drug costs. We suggest you review your plan each year and we can help you. We will be offering this service at the library 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 31, Nov 14 and Nov 28.
Appointments must be scheduled through the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging. To schedule an appointment please call 800-441-1315.
Dinner to benefit Music in the Park
A dinner to benefit Music in the Park in Lansford will take place from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 6, at the Lansford American Legion, 3 W. Ridge St., Lansford. Dinner will include pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, vegetable, coffee and dessert for $10. Eat in or take out.
Senior center
The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Oct. 29-Nov. 2 is:
Monday: Minestrone Soup, chicken Alfredo, fettuccine, spinach, sorbet or beef and cheese sandwich
Tuesday: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, broccoli and carrots, roll, cottage cheese with fruit or barbecue chicken sandwich
Wednesday: Pork, mashed squash, green beans, baked apples or Cuban sandwich
Thursday: Barbecue chicken, red potatoes, broccoli, biscuit, rice pudding or chicken Cobb salad
Friday: Beef pot roast, boiled potatoes, peas and carrots, roll, ambrosia or turkey Swiss wrap
The Panther Valley Senior Center has also announced upcoming events for Oct. 29-Nov. 2.
Card Games on Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.; Bingo on Oct. 30 at 11 a.m.; Halloween Party on Oct. 31 at 11 a.m.; Nickel-Keeno on Nov. 1 at 11 a.m.; Cornhole on Nov. 2 at 11 a.m.
