A joyful reunion of two sisters who hadn’t seen each other for 47 years was the big surprise at the annual Dick Edwards Mother’s Day party at the Nation Guard Armory in Lehighton today.

Mrs. Lawrence Foley of Hyde Cheshire, England, was flown to the U.S. as a surprise to her sister, Mrs. Samuel Broadhead, of 324 Arlington St., Tamaqua, and the two were reunited this afternoon at the party attended by 570 mothers over the age of 70.

Accompanying Mrs. Foley on the trip was her husband. They arrived at J.F.K. Airport in New York City earlier this week.
