State police at Lehighton report on incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:

• On April 14, at 9:50 p.m. troopers responded to Pohopoco Drive, Kunkletown, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a domestic dispute that turned physical. A 52-year-old woman had blood on her face and broken nose. It was determined that an argument occurred between the woman and a 31-year-old woman and the suspect “head butted” the victim.

She was taken into custody on simple assault, harassment and related charges.

• On April 18 at 2:40 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado truck at Fredericks Grove Road and Mahoning Drive East, in Mahoning Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation. The driver, a 52-year-old woman from Lansford, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence. A DUI charge is pending test results.

• A 34-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop that happened at 3:28 p.m. March 18 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said the discovery was made after the 2015 Subaru Legacy was stopped for a traffic violation.

• Police are investigating an assault case involving a 6-year-old boy from Kunkletown.

Police said they were called at 7:30 p.m. April 3 to the 7000 block of Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township to investigate the complaint.
