The 1992 edition of the “Bunny Hop Special” train rides held last week in Jim Thorpe drew a record 2,793 riders, according to George Hart, owner of Rail Tours, Inc.

Hart conducts the annual rides to benefit community ambulance services provided by the Jim Thorpe Diligent and Fairview fire companies.

He said as a result of the record attendance, each of the companies will receive checks for $2,000.

Hart began “Bunny Hops” five years ago and also holds “Santa Claus Special” rides for the Fairview company.
