State police at Frackville release details on crashes

State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers in Schuylkill County:

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 12:52 a.m. on April 7 along Valley Road in Walker Township. Troopers said Madison G. Davis, 24, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry westbound while under the influence when the vehicle left the road. She attempted to steer back onto the road which caused the vehicle to slide sideways on the grass roadside, hitting a shrub along the road.

Davis showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. The vehicle was towed.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 1:24 a.m. on April 13 along Interstate 81 connector in Kline Township. Troopers said Wester Morillo, 34, of Lansford, was driving a 2010 Toyota Camry eastbound on the south exit ramp when the right front tire fell off. The vehicle struck the concrete barrier along the south berm of the ramp.

Morillo and his passenger, Jholeidy Ferreras, 24, of Lansford, were not injured. The vehicle was towed and Morillo was cited for the crash.

• A three-vehicle crash was reported at 6:55 p.m. on March 29 along Hazle Street in Delano Township. Troopers said Roxanne M. Babarsky, 29, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2009 Dodge Caliber eastbound when she lost control on a left curve in the road. She attempted to regain control and over compensated. Her vehicle then traveled back across the road and struck the front end of a parked 2007 Toyota Corolla. The Corolla was then pushed into a parked 2009 BMW 328i.

Babarsky was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 7:10 p.m. on Monday along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Paula S. Wise, 43, of Summit Hill, was driving a 2009 Honda FIT northbound on a snow-covered road. As she merged onto the exit ramp the vehicle struck a metal guide rail and came to rest in a grass median.

Wise sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken to St. Luke’s Miners Hospital, Coaldale, by Mahanoy City ambulance. The vehicle was towed.

She was cited for the crash.

• A crash was reported at 7:15 a.m. on April 17 along Route 61 in Frackville. Troopers said James R. Barlet, 51, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 2011 Nissan Murano, told them he was southbound when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle then hit a utility pole, followed by a fire hydrant, another utility pole, a building and a parked 20004 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Barlet sustained suspected minor injuries and was taken to St. Luke’s-Geisinger Hospital, Orwigsburg. A back seat passenger, April M. Harley, 42, of Summit Station, refused medical treatment. The vehicle was towed.

Barlet was cited for driving while operating privilege is suspended for revoked.
