– Ed Jacoby and Wilbur Arner are two-event winners in helping the Lehighton Indians rout the Marian Colts, 84-1/4 to 11-1/2 in a track meet held on the winners field. Coach Ken Reid’s squad collects first-place finishes in all but one event in scoring the decisive win. Jacoby wins the shot put and discus competitions, while Arner cops the 100- and 220-yard dashes. Marian’s only win comes from Pat McMullen, who crosses the finish line first in the two-mile run.
