State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two-vehicle crash at 6:23 p.m. on April 2 at the intersection of Mountain Woods Road and Rossmor Drive in Ross Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Michael J. Brengel, 29, of Effort, was driving a 2019 Ford Ranger northbound on Mountain Woods Road and approaching the intersection while Aurea Y. Cordero, 54, of Saylorsburg, was southbound driving a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC. Troopers said Brengel was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control on a downhill left hand curve in the road. Cordero was slowing down to make a left turn onto Rossmor Drive.

Brengel entered into Cordero’s lane of travel and hit his car.

No one was injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Brengel was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
