Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin Jr. At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and traditional service at 11 a.m. You can worship in person in the sanctuary or Leah’s Room or in the parking lot by turning the radio to 104.3 FM or Facebook Live.

Bible study called “Torn” is April 5 at 6:30 p.m. for both men and women.

April 5 at 11:30 a.m. is lunch group Bible study.

Community Lent service is at 7 p.m. each Wednesday. April 6 at Dinkey Memorial in Ashfield, and April 13 at Emmanuel UCC in Bowmanstown.

Lenten service

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trachsville, and St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fireline Road, Palmerton, share Lenten services. On April 6 the service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran.

Services begin with fellowship at 6 p.m., followed by worship at 7 p.m.

Good Friday fish fry

A Good Friday fish fry dinner will be held at the Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company on April 15 from 3-7 p.m. It will be a drive-thru event again this year. Pre-sale tickets are necessary. To purchase tickets see a member, call 610-826-2066, visit George’s P&H Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or visit the fire station Fridays 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or Mondays 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Love Thy Neighbor care bags

Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton, is collecting personal items now through April 10 to make care bags to benefit the residents of the Palmerton High Rise. They will be collecting face masks, moisturizer lotion, tissues, sugar-free candy and small puzzle books. Items should be placed on the table at the back of the sanctuary. The care bags will be assembled on April 10 after worship.

PTO basket raffle

A basket raffle to benefit S.S. Palmer/Parkside PTO will be held April 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palmerton Area High School, Fireline Road. Will have baskets, gift cards, hot foods and a bake sale.

Booster Club

You may register your child for Palmerton Booster Club Youth Football and Cheerleading during the PTO Basket Raffle at the high school from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 3. Sign-ups will also be held April 30 at the Seventh Street Field.

Palmerton library

A bookmark contest is being held for preschool through sixth grade. Winning designs in each group will be printed as bookmarks and distributed by the library. Entry forms are due by April 20. Winners will be announced April 22. One entry per child. Stop by the library to pick up a form.

During the month of April a CACPAC Food Drive will be held at the library. Help fill the shopping cart with nonperishable food items to support our local food pantry. Donations can be dropped off during regular library hours for the month of April.

Holy Trinity Lutheran

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will have Lenten Service on April 6 at 7 p.m.

Knitting Club

The Knitting Club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library on April 4 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The club is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels. Meets the first Monday of each month.

Quilt Guild

The Sew What Quilt Guild will meet at the Palmerton Area Library on April 1 at 10:30 a.m. New members and visitors are always welcome the first Friday of each month.

Blue Mountain Fiber Guild

The Blue Mountain Fiber Guild will meet at the Palmerton Area Library on April 5 at 6 p.m. The group explores all things related to fiber arts such as spinning, weaving, etc., the first Tuesday of each month.

Movie Madness Marathon

Come to Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton on Saturday for a Movie Madness Marathon. Showtimes are 11 a.m. for “Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” 3 p.m. for “I Still Believe” and 6:30 p.m. for “God’s Not Dead: 4.” Come for one movie or for them all. Donations will be accepted toward the popcorn, snacks, lunch and dinner.

Living Hope Lighthouse Church

Living Hope Lighthouse Church, Palmerton, holds Sunday Worship at 10 a.m. Following worship this Sunday join together for a Spring Training Luncheon to celebrate the opening of baseball season. Will have picnic-themed foods.

Egg hunts

An Easter egg hunt will be held at the Palmerton Memorial Park Grove, 1255 N. Third St., on April 9 at 11 a.m. For ages 0-10.
