Kindergarten registration in the Panther Valley School District will be held on May 9-11 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the elementary school gymnasium, 1 N. Mermon Ave., Nesquehoning.
For a child to be registered for kindergarten, the parent/guardian must call the Panther Valley Elementary School office Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 570-669-9411 beginning April 4 to make an appointment. No walk-in registrations will be accepted.
At the time of the call, be prepared to provide the following information:
• Parent/guardian name, address and telephone number
• Child’s name and birth date
A child must be 5 years old by Oct. 1, 2022, to be eligible. No exceptions.
When attending registration, the parent/guardian should have a state-issued birth certificate or other acceptable proof of name and age of child, along with immunization records for the child enrolling. Also, the parent/guardian must bring two proofs of residency and any court related documents pertaining to the child if applicable.
At the scheduled appointment, only one parent/guardian and the child to be registered attend the appointment. Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time.
The parent/guardian will meet with the school secretary who will record all pertinent information, as well as determine the child’s bus stop. The school nurse will record all medical information, review immunization requirements, and provide information on health-related issues.
While the parent/guardian is completing these meetings and being oriented, the child will be participating in their own activity. The entire orientation and testing program will take approximately 30 minutes.
