Thrift store holds annual prom dress sale
On Saturday Eldred Township Community Center Thrift Store once again made the dream of finding the perfect prom dress come true for many high school girls.
“This is our fifth year for the annual prom dress sale, and every year the number of shoppers increases,” said thrift store manager Donna Deihl.
The line of people waiting for the doors to open went almost all the way around the building, Deihl said.
“Not everybody can afford to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a prom dress and accessories. All our dresses are $10 each, with a limit of two dresses,” Deihl said, and pointed out the tables of shoes and jewelry for sale.
Rack after rack of dresses packed the large room. Colors of red, green, purple, pink, yellow, turquoise and silver dresses, just waiting to be the perfect prom dress for some young woman. It looked a like rainbow had exploded in the room.
“I am so happy we decided to come and check out the dresses, said Cheida Soto.
The number of smiling faces on young shoppers leaving with their purchases brightened the sunless day.
