Meckes breaks DeSales school record

Lehighton graduate Isabelle Meckes opened the outdoor track & field season in grand fashion, posting a first place in the discus at the Washington & Lee Invitational.

Meckes, a junior at DeSales University, had a toss of 42.74 meters to win the event.

In addition to placing first, the throw broke the school record which was held by Jen Rautzhan and had stood since the 2003 season.

Last year as a sophomore, the former Indian was a MAC Champion in the discus with a throw of 41.91m. She was also named to the MAC Winter and Spring Academic Honor Roll.
