State police at Frackville reported investigating the following crashes on Sunday along slushy Schuylkill County roadways.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 7:25 a.m. along Route 309 (Claremont Avenue) in Rush Township. Troopers said Robert W. Jewells, 89, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2013 Ford Fiesta southbound in the unit block of Claremont Avenue and negotiating a left curve on the slush-covered roadway. The Ford left the road on the left side and struck a concrete planter at the base of a business sign about 20 feet west of the road. After impact the Ford continued south and came to rest about 10-feet from the initial point of impact.

Jewells was injured and taken to St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, by Tamaqua EMS unit. Hometown Fire Company volunteers assisted at the scene.

Troopers said Jewells was cited for the crash.

• Another one-vehicle crash was reported at 9:14 a.m. Sunday along Ridge Road in East Brunswick Township. Troopers said Karl A. Brobst, 37, of New Ringgold, was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty westbound when he lost control on the slush-covered roadway. The vehicle went onto the right berm and struck an embankment. The Jeep then rolled over at least once before coming to rest on its wheels about 50 feet of the initial point of impact.

Brobst and a 14-year-old girl from New Ringgold were not injured. Two 11-year-old girls from Lehighton had suspected minor injuries but did not require immediate medical attention.

Brobst was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

• Another crash was reported at 9:17 a.m. along Route 895 in East Brunswick Township. Troopers said Cena D. Lindenmuth, 22, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2008 Toyota Avalon westbound, and while negotiating a right curve, her vehicle crossed the centerline and sideswiped a 2016 Kenworth tractor with trailer operated by Frank A. Thompson, 43, of Zerbe, Northumberland County, who was eastbound. After impact the Toyota continued westbound and struck the guide rail on the right berm where it came to rest.

No one was injured. Troopers were assisted at the scene by volunteers from the New Ringgold Fire Company.

Troopers said Lindenmuth was cited for the crash.
