Michelle Allen, Carbon Career & Technical Institute’s new principal, addressed the Joint Operating Committee at its monthly meeting on Thursday.
Her first day on the job was Monday. She is taking over for Brent Borzak, who is moving into the administrative director position on April 1.
Administrative Director Dave Reinbold is retiring. He will stay on through April 30.
“I have to say that my first four days have been extraordinary.
I’ve been very busy,” Allen said. “I’m thrilled to be the principal here. I’m looking forward to many years and lots of growth with the help of Mr. Borzak and the students. Great things are happening.”
Allen has been in education for 23 years, having previously been a teacher in CCTI’s Cosmetology Department. She also acknowledged her work in Easton at the Career Institute of Technology, where she was involved in various leadership positions.
“That allowed me to experience and grow in leadership and administration positions.”
Allen shared that many people at the school have been helping her and she thanked everyone for their support.
Anna Leigh Conway of the Science Department said, “The Teachers Association would like to welcome Mrs. Michelle Allen as principal of CCTI. … She will end up being a great fit for CCTI and a strong female leader and we look forward to working with her.”
