A 22-year-old Tamaqua man was killed Monday morning in a crash in Berks County.
State police at Hamburg identified the man as Jordan M. Smith.
Police said the crash occurred at 6:45 a.m. on Route 61, about 750 feet south of Hughes Hill Road, in Windsor Township, Berks County.
Police said the crash occurred as Smith was traveling south on Route 61 and a vehicle driven by Randy A. Leh, 57, of Wyomissing was traveling north.
Smith crossed the centerline and struck Leh’s vehicle head-on.
Smith’s vehicle came to rest in the travel lanes. Leh’s vehicle came to rest on the northbound shoulder of Route 61. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
Leh was transported to Reading Hospital for medical treatment.
PSP Hamburg was assisted by Hamburg EMS, Union Fire Company of Hamburg, Shoemakersville Fire Company, Hamburg Borough Police Department, V & M Towing, and the Berks County Coroner’s Office.
