A voting precinct in Lehighton is going back to its original location.

On Thursday, the county election board approved moving Lehighton 3rd precinct, district 30, back to SS. Peter and Paul Church basement, Third and Coal streets in Lehighton. The precinct had been moved to the American Legion Post 314 for the last few elections due to the pandemic.

Commissioner Rocky Ahner said the poll workers wanted to move the precinct back to its original location and now that the emergency mandate is lifted, the county was able to make the move back.
