March marks the 50th anniversary of the amendment to the Older Americans Act to recognize and fund senior centers as part of the aging network.

The Carbon County Area Agency on Aging is marking the occasion by offering a reservations-only brunch at each senior center from 10 a.m. to noon. Reservations can be made by calling the senior center they wish to attend. These are the dates for each senior center in March:

• March 15 at Panther Valley Senior Center

• March 18 at the Lehighton Senior Center

• March 24 at Weatherly Senior Center

• March 25 at Jim Thorpe/Penn-Kidder Senior Center

The event was already held in Palmerton.
