The 723rd Military Police Company, a unit of the 165th Military Police Battalion of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, stationed in Lehighton, has been transferred to its new quarters in Philadelphia.

Movement of the 723rd was accomplished over the weekend in a 16-vehicle convoy.

Before its reassignment, the unit was a combat-ready company, but under its new designation will be used for physical security of Army depots and other facilities.

Lt. Daryl F. Moyer of Hamburg will continue to be the commander of the unit that has increased from 46 to 72 men.
