Credit defaults
The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

Mortgage foreclosures
The following actions were filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans.
Cygnus NCP Loans, c/o 3060 Peachtree Road, NW, Atlanta, Georgia, filed an action against Robert M. Manero, 22 Miller Circle, Limerick, over property at Lot 11, Section H, Village Greens, Kidder Township. Sought is $83,453.65 and continuing interest.
TD Bank, c/o 2035 Limestone Road, Wilmington, Delaware, filed an action against Robert III and Julie Renode, 8 Acorn Lane, Jim Thorpe, over property at that address. Sought is $552,419.99 and continuing interest.
MMS Mortgage Services LTD, c/o 38275 W. Twelve Mile Road, Farmington Hills, Minnesota, filed an action against Helene Pallavicini, 3 Second St., Nesquehoning, over property at 337 E. Patterson St., Lansford. Sought is $41,077.58 and continuing interest.
Church suit
St. Matthew’s Union Church of Packer Township, 3153 Quakake Road, Weatherly, has filed a civil action against Jeremy S. Landis, 402 W. Main St., Weatherly, over a crash which caused damages at the plaintiff’s cemetery, located next to the church.
The suit states on Feb. 15, 2021, Landis was the operator of a 2019 Volkswagen vehicle that crashed onto the cemetery property, causing damages to several tombstones.
Negligence is alleged against the defendant and sought are damages of $21,560 plus costs, fees and interest.
Slip/fall suits
Two “slip and fall” suits seeking damages have been filed in the county court.
• Michelle and John Franklin, 256 Mountain View Drive, Jim Thorpe, filed an action against the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, 700 S. Eisenhower Blvd., Middletown; HMSHost, aka HMS Corporation, aka HMSHost North America, aka HMS Host USA Inc., of 6905 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, Maryland; and PTC, owner of the premises located at the Hickory Run service plaza at milepost 86.1 on Interstate 476 at 256 Danner Road, Jim Thorpe.
During the morning hours of Dec. 17, 2020, plaintiff Michelle Franklin was working at the plaza at a 7-Eleven store when the assistant manager instructed her to go outside to empty the trash and refill with clean trash bags. Between 11:29 a.m. and 1:11 p.m. the plaintiff did as instructed. Franklin walked to the garbage shed area when she was caused to slip and fall on an accumulation of ice and snow, striking her head on the ground, causing injuries which are detailed in the suit.
Negligence is alleged against the defendants and sought are damages in excess of $50,000 on each of four counts.
• George Covaliti, 215 Packerton Dam Drive, Lehighton, filed a civil complaint against Tracy Hawk and Howard Kuntz, both of 36 Todd Lane, Lehighton.
The suit states on Jan. 21, 2020, the plaintiff was assisting the defendants at 36 Todd Lane with a renovation project. The plaintiff had walked across a driveway at the property which had untreated hills and ridges of ice which caused him to slip and fall landing on his right side. The suit alleges Tracy Hawk witnessed the fall and failed to assist the plaintiff in any way. The suit details injuries allegedly sustained by the plaintiff in the fall.
Negligence is alleged against the defendants and sought are damages in excess of arbitration limits.
