Kindergarten registration for the 2022-23 school year for the Palmerton Area School District will be held at the Parkside Education Center administration office, third floor, which is located at 680 Fourth St., Palmerton.

Times for registration will be from 1 to 7 p.m. on April 6, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 7 and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. April 8. Parents or guardians can sign up for a time using the Google form found on the Palmerton Area School District website, www.palmerton.org.

Registration is for parents or guardians only. Children do not need to attend as registration is only to gather appropriate information. The wearing of masks is encouraged.

Children must be 5 years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2022, to attend kindergarten. Parents will need to have the child’s birth certificate or other acceptable proof of age. Proof of immunizations including four doses of tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (one dose on or after fourth birthday), four doses of polio, three doses of hepatitis B, two doses of measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) and two doses of varicella (chickenpox) or evidence of immunity.

Parents will need two forms of identification to prove residency in the district. Parents must complete the kindergarten registration packet, which can be found on the district website prior to their registration appointment.

At registration, parents will receive information about the kindergarten screening process. Parkside Education Center’s screening will be June 6. The screening date for Towamensing Elementary will be June 14.
