Easter filling sale
Jerusalem UCC, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will be holding an Easter filling sale. Must order by March 26. Call the church office at 610-681-4412 or Beverly at 610-377-5811 for cost and to order.
Pickup will be April 9 from noon to 4 or April 10 following worship, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
Holy Trinity Lutheran
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship on Sunday at 10:15 a.m.
If you plan to attend, please call the church office at 610-826-2525. If you are unable to attend in person, you may join on Zoom. Communion will be held. Please remember to bring food items for the CACPAC food pantry.
March 9 Lenten Service will be held at Holy Trinity at 7 p.m.
Bible study is held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
Train meet
The Carbon Model Railroad Society is sponsoring its spring train meet on March 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Diamond Fire Co. Bingo Hall, 120 Main St., Walnutport. This is a model railroad, toy train and railroadiania sale for the serious and amateur railroad and model train collector.
Food will be available for purchase from the bingo hall kitchen. Plenty of free parking. There is an admission fee. Bring your entire family and tell your friends.
Knitting Club
The Knitting Club will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 7 at the Palmerton Area Library. The group is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels.
Food pantry
The CACPAC sponsored food pantry will be held this Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton.
Free community meal
A free community meal will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. March 8 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton.
The menu will be roast pork, au gratin potatoes, carrots and dessert. All are welcome to share in fellowship and a free meal.
Borough council
For the month of March, the Palmerton Borough Council will meet March 10 and 24 at 7 p.m. in Borough Hall Council Chambers, 443 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
Borough police
The Palmerton Police Department has accumulated various bicycles and scooters over the past few years that were found or recovered and turned into the police.
If you have a lost or stolen bicycle that was not reported to the police, please contact them with a description of the bicycle. They will check their inventory to determine if your bicycle is in their possession.
Any unclaimed bicycles will be disposed of on March 31. Please contact the police department at 610-826-4055 if you have any questions.
Spring basket social
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trachsville, will hold their Annual Spring Basket Social on March 11 from 4-7 p.m. and March 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be theme baskets with three baskets having $25 hidden among the contents. They will also have a raffle, and baked goods sale.
Food will be available for purchase including barbecue, homemade soups, chow chow, etc.
Living Hope Lighthouse Church
Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton, holds Sunday worship at 10 a.m. Communion is served the first Sunday of the month. If you need handicap access, please park in the lot behind the church. No steps to enter.
March 6 following the service will be the next fellowship luncheon. This month the theme is heritage foods. Bring a food from your heritage, a dessert or drinks. Hope to see you there.
Breakfast
Breakfast will be served March 6 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Parryville Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2, 359 Main St, Parryville. Platter choices include pancakes, French toast, eggs any style, SOS, Fire House Mess, western omelet, ham and cheese omelet, cheese steak omelet. Choices of meats are ham, sausage, scrapple, or bacon. Includes home fries, juice and coffee. They have large and small platters.
