The Class 2A Southeast and Class 3A Northeast Regional wrestling tournaments are set for this weekend.

Ten area wrestlers qualified for the Class 2A event, which will be held at Freedom High School. Pleasant Valley’s James Syracuse will be competing in the Class 3A tournament, held at Liberty.

Palmerton’s Daniel Lucykanish and Lehighton’s Aidan Gruber, the Times News/Lehigh Valley Health Network Male Athletes of the Week, are coming off runner-up finishes at last week’s District 11 Class event at 160 and 113 pounds, respectively.

Action begins Friday at 4:30 p.m. with preliminary rounds, followed by quarterfinals (6:30) and first round consolations (8:30).

On Saturday, action resumes with second round consolations at 9:30 a.m., followed by semifinals and third round consolations at 11 a.m. The fourth round consolations will take place at 1:30 p.m.

The Parade of Champions will take place at 4:50 p.m., followed by the consolation and championship finals at 5 p.m.

In Class 2A, the top six wrestlers advance to states, while the top four move on From 3A.
